Deborah Cook is the founder of Sound Financial Solutions, Inc. in Eastern North Carolina-based agency whose mission is to educate individuals, families, and businesses on the art of managing and preserving wealth at the various stages and ages of life. Deborah is an Investment Advisor Representative (IAR) with the Chartered Financial Consultant and the Retirement Income Certified Professional designations. Through the Financial Planning process, Deborah provides proactive and thoughtful approaches to her clients while keeping risk management, accumulation, and income needs top of mind. With Deborah’s over 20 years of providing financial advice, she has found that everyone’s financial needs are unique and dynamic. With that in mind, she takes a diligent approach to help ensure all recommendations are in the client’s best interest through the various stages of their lives. Deborah helps people as they move from accumulating wealth to using their wealth to seek to provide income in retirement. Working through Prudential Advisors, Deborah offers many investment options for clients as they seek to preserve and manage assets to provide suitable income and mitigate taxes in retirement. Having time-tested experience with generational wealth over the past 20 years, Deborah provides exit strategies for the aged as well as estate plans as assets are passed from one generation to another.
Away from the office, Deborah enjoys family time with her husband of 35 years and her two adult children and three grandchildren. Deborah loves spending time in the garden where she can de-stress from a busy life. She prioritizes exercise and a healthy lifestyle to be her best self.
In the community, she is an active member of Christ Episcopal Church and loves serving in a variety of ways. Deborah’s heart for people in need drives her involvement with Religious Community Services, a local homeless shelter, community kitchen, family and Veteran’s case management and living quarters. She currently serves on the Board at RCS as treasurer.
